PRISONERS OF RIKERS

    

    After watching "Lock-Up: The Prisoners of Rikers Island" I learned about how many different groups of inmates there were and the differences between all of them. I was also saddened to how that life appears to be so normal to them. There were so many emotions while watching this movie as well. I was shocked, sad, and frustrated with the way these people were living on Rikers, the mental health they were struggling with, and the way some officers spoke about the inmates. Hearing personal stories from the inmates really opened my eyes and how much the system is really broken as well.
