CRAZY, NOT INSANE


    One thing that stood out to me the most was the information shared about multiple personality disorder. It was sad to hear how childhood trauma contributes to personality disorder as well. This disorder starts to develop extremely early in children, but is not usually identified right away.  How crazy!

    I thought it was a shock to see that children develop this disorder at a very young age because I had always thought that this disorder took time to develop, in which only adults were able to have this disorder. Hearing how alternate personalities leave a little piece of themselves everywhere was also insane! These pieces of evidence really project the fact that this disorder is extremely real and does need to be taken seriously.  

    From doing my own research, I have learned that borderline personality disorder (BPD) is not very common. For example, according to the website "Cleveland Clinic" it is stated that about 9 percent of adults in the United States have a type of personality disorder and about 6 percent of the global population has a personality disorder!

This video showed how much of a difference there can be throughout the world if we are all kind to each other and help each other out. "The Preciousness of Time: A Stephen Hawking Tribute"

  BE CURIOUS     "The Preciousness of Time: A Stephen Hawking Tribute" was the type of video to make me rethink life. Hearing about how Hawking was given only a few years to live and how he lost his ability to communicate normally, while still being stuck in his own thoughts, made me appreciate life even more! I thought it was cool to hear him explain how once his life changed, he started to really think about the universe and how it works, as well as trying to encourage others to 'be curious'.

Guns In America Presentation

     TOO MUCH VIOLENCE      I really appreciated the fact that CJ had included a personal and emotional piece of her life to help project the fact that gun violence is extremely real and affects a great amount of people. Hearing that the US has the most school shootings by far was very saddening, frustrating, and scary because of the fact that many innocent lives are being lost to this issue. This issue has been going on for way too long and there appears to be nothing grand or big enough that has been done to put an end to the gun violence the US is suffering from.     I agreed with this group when they had discussed just how long this issue has been going on, such as one of the articles they had included for their 'group links' having been published by The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, which has been around since the 1970's.
